This page explains how WOW Scent ("we", "us") handles personal data collected through wowscent.co.uk. This policy is maintained by the business owner and reflects our current practices.

What we collect

When you place an order, sign up for the newsletter, or contact us, we collect the information you give us — typically your name, email address, delivery address, and order details. Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.

Why we use it

We use your data to fulfil your orders, provide customer support, and — with your consent — send you marketing about new drops and offers. Consent is captured through a double opt-in confirmation email for the newsletter.

Legal basis (UK GDPR)

Contract performance for orders you place; legitimate interest for fraud prevention and site operation; consent for marketing emails.

Sharing

We share data only with the providers that help us run the site: Stripe (payments), our shipping carriers, and our email/hosting infrastructure. We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

Order records are retained for as long as required by UK tax law (currently six years). Newsletter records are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to withdraw consent for marketing at any time. For newsletter data, you can email us to view or delete your subscription data. For anything else, email hello@wowscent.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Rep programme, age verification and ID documents

The WOWSCENT rep programme is open to UK residents only. Applicants must be 18 years of age or over because the products we sell — perfumes and aftershaves — contain perfumer's alcohol, an age-restricted ingredient.

To confirm your identity and age, we ask for a photo ID (driving licence, passport, or other government-issued ID). This is used only to check that the name on your ID matches the name on your application and that you are over 18.

Your ID document is stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket and is only viewed by authorised WOW Scent admin. Once your application is approved or rejected and your identity has been verified, the document is deleted. It is not used for any other purpose and is never shared with third parties.

You can request deletion of your verification document at any time before verification by emailing hello@wowscent.co.uk. For more details on how we handle personal data, please read our GDPR Statement.

Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to run the site and remember your cart. We do not use advertising cookies.

Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we will remove you from the list.
